Your big accomplishment this month was learning how to walk!! It started with a few tentative steps a couple weeks ago, but now you are toddling all over the place. You still look a bit like Frankenstein when you walk, with your super-wide stance. But it is adorable to watch and you absolutely love to walk. Mommy won the bet! Daddy didn't think you'd walk until 11 months but I knew better. You've been anxious to get moving since birth.
You love to explore. I often see you opening and closing drawers/cupboards over and over again, as if you are trying to figure out how they work. You enjoy getting stuck in tight spots, such as under the bed or in the laundry hamper. You love to crawl under the dining room table and climb in between the chairs.
I can see your face starting to look a little older. Your cheeks aren't quite as chubby, and your hair is getting a bit shaggier. And you have your Daddy to thank for your beautiful eyelashes!
You love to point at things and babble. I just smile and respond as if you are making complete sense. You still haven't said "Mama", but now when you see your Daddy you smile and sometimes say "Dada", so I think you are beginning to understand the meaning of some words.Your sleeping habits have finally improved this month! We tried letting you cry it out, and it actually worked after a few nights. Our efforts got sidelined when you became really congested for a week and ended up back in bed with us. But then just this past week you have started napping more consistently. Thank you thank you thank you! (All this sleeping has resulted in some serious bedhead)
Eating has become a game for you. Food is merely an object to feed the dog with or smear in your hair. You have gotten much better at picking up finger foods, but you just don't seem really motivated to eat a lot. You do still breastfeed around 5 times per day, so I can only assume you are getting the calories that your little body needs. One of your favorite foods right now is spicy hummus. You also tried fish for the first time this month.
