School has only been out for about 2 weeks but I already feel like we've done a ton of stuff! I posted a couple weeks ago about my summer schedule, and I'm pleased to say that it is really helping. I like having a natural rhythm to the day. When we sit around and don't know what to do next, our day tends to go downhill very quickly. Every morning I've been telling the kids what we have planned for the day. They are starting to remember that after lunch we have quiet time, and they've just come to expect it. Unfortunately the boys have been getting up around 6am every day so far this summer! What gives?? This makes for a very long day. I used to drag Ryan out of bed at 7am for school, but now he bounds out of bed bright and early. Can someone please come explain to my kids how to sleep in a little?
In addition to our recent lake trip, and then VBS this week, here's what we've been up to so far this summer.
Lots of time at the park:
(They were doing rock paper scissors to decide which park to go to)
Time on the play structure (clothing optional):
Lots of time outside playing in the water:
And lots of silliness:
Of course Ryan keeps telling me we haven't done anything fun. Meanwhile I'm tired from all the activities we've been doing! What are you up to so far this summer?
