We kicked off Halloween weekend by visiting a local house here in Rocklin that went ALL OUT with their decorations! It was quite impressive, and we spent a long time standing there, admiring all the hard work that went into it.
Halloween was on a Saturday this year, so that was fun! Our original plan was to do a candy scavenger hunt at home instead of trick-or-treating. We were then going to eat a fun dinner and watch a Halloween movie. Well, one thing led to another and we ended up trick-or-treating all around our court as well as another one nearby. There were a lot of people out passing out candy in very creative and non-traditional ways. This year Andrew went as Lightning McQueen, Jenna as Snow White, and the boys were 2 unknown characters. I mean, I'm sure they knew who they were dressed as, but I have no idea. We slacked on getting them costumes and bought these very last minute from Target. Yea, it's been that kind of year.
We did great carving our pumpkins!
After a few courts we spotted the giant moon in the sky! Can you see it?
Back at home we hid candy all over the house downstairs and then let the kids run around and go crazy finding it. Sometimes new traditions can be fun!Our night also included Chipotle for dinner, and a fun family movie of 3 Ninjas (circa 1992!). It ended up being a really fun Halloween, despite the way everything is going in the world right now. Now someone please get all this candy out of my house!
