Nesting

They say that most pregnant women "nest" right before their baby comes. They have a sudden urge to clean the house and get everything in order. I think I've definitely been experiencing this. I am constantly looking around and thinking "I'm not going to be able to do that once the baby is here, so I should do it now". My To-Do list might look strange to other people, but checking these things off my list has helped me mentally prepare for being a mother of two. At this point there is so much more I'd like to do, but am just physically unable to. Here are a few ways I've been nesting in the past 3 days:

-Mowed the back lawn
-Got my first pedicure in 5 years
-Alphabetized my spice cabinet
-Vacuumed our baseboards
-Painted trim in the nursery

If you're a Mom, did you do any nesting right before giving birth?

  1. Yes, I totally washed the walls, vacuumed three times, and spent a good hour sweeping and mopping my floors.

  3. I was insistent that we get the carpets cleaned before Scarlett as born. We also cleaned out closets and got rid of a lot of extra stuff - we had to make room!

  4. My contractions started at BabiesRUs while I was buying all the last minute items I needed for the baby. Then I went home, emailed my phone list, typed my birth plan and got about 2 hours of sleep before I could no longer sleep through the contractions. Talk about leaving things to the last minute! At least my bag was packed =)

  5. Yikes! Well I have all the important things done, except for my hospital bag. But I DO have a list of what to pack in my bag, so I'm pretty much set.

  6. With Miriel I scoured my hall closet. I'm not sure why, it was in great shape! With Rembrandt I fixed the sprinkler heads on my lawn - not recommended.
